A Huge Pile Of Email
Here's a challenge for you. I wonder if you can beat me?
When I checked my email recently, I had over 2000 unread messages. How many do you have?
"So what?" some might say.
Well, not much, I agree. But, what if there's lost, somewhere in there, a really important message that I need to act on? Like a message from a Nigerian prince looking to repatriate his cash. If that's on my mind, even in the slightest, then it's a problem. It's taking mental energy from more important tasks. It's weakening my mindset. And I know my mindset needs to be as strong as possible, all day, every day.
So, I decided to do something about it.
I looked back over all the unopened emails, and before even thinking about deleting them, I started to UNSUBSCRIBE.
Baby clothes, car dealerships, holiday companies, wine recommendations. All regularly popped in and remained unopened. And it's a much longer list.
The process of opening and going through to the end of the email, finding the 'unsubscribe' link and tapping through to complete the process, is very satisfying. It's like a virtual de-cluttering. It means that the build up of new emails is vastly reduced, and so my ongoing process of deleting old mails is much more effective.
It's one step to the nirvana of 'inbox zero'...http://www.lifehack.org/articles/lifehack/ultimate-way-inbox-zero.html
So take a look at your inbox, and unsubscribe yourself from all those mails that you don't need or read. Of course that doesn't include the Best Mate Coaching Newsletter, which is essential reading every month.
BTW you can easily sign up to that newsletter by clicking here, and receive my FREE e-book as a bonus gift from me to you.
